Who We Are
Accelerating Institutional and Food Systems Development (AIFSD) program seeks to sustainably reduce poverty and hunger in Kenya by strengthening the capacity of key institutions and creating a strong enabling environment for food systems development to enable the wide application of technologies and innovations for increased productivity, incomes and nutrition.
Objective
The program, which runs from October 2021 to September 2024 has three strategic development objectives:
Increase inclusive agricultural growth
Enhance resilience among people and systems
Improve food and nutrition security in the targeted value chains in the Feed the Future zones of influence in Kenya
Implementation
AIFSD is implemented in 10 counties and has the following four components.
Implementing Partners
AIFSD is implemented by the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) as the lead centre, the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT), and the International Potato Center (CIP).
